Summer visitors to London from the Middle East: Laylati at Knightsbridge

During the blistering heat of the Middle Eastern summer there is usually an exodus from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. Temperatures can reach a sweltering 40 °C over there, enough to have even the most hardened desert-dweller escaping to cooler climes.

Many of the heat exiles come to London for respite and some stay at the
Sheraton Hotel in central London where Oasis have recently transformed the terrace to a traditional Arabic themed setting. The inviting space will offer a wide selection of authentic Arabic foods, Arabic coffee and tea. Traditional delicacies will also be available including hummus, moutabel, kubbeh, fatayer and kofta, all created by the hotel's Lebanese chef, and a wide selection of flavoured shisha.
